Probability is the measure of chances of an event to occur. It tells us the odds or chances of something happening.
In this branch of mathematics, we predict the occurance of an event using scientific ways of identifying the constraints and possibilities. This has applications in diverse fields like statistics, actuarial sciences, meteorology, betting and gambling, etc.
Probability involves different permutations and combinations of arrangements and choices. Sometimes these arrangements and choices are affected by conditions imposed on them, thus restricting the choices. We’ll look at successive occurrences of an event, and the probability of such successive occurances happening.
We’ll also look at the data rules and patterns defining a binomial and normal distribution, and Pascal’s triangle. Venn diagrams are used to represent all possible options of occurrences.
